Marshels redecorated three rooms in my awkward flat to a really high standard. Well organised, good communication, helpful advice on finishes, reassuringly experienced in dealing with the various surfaces and minor surprises. Decorators rightly proud of their work, soldiering on through a mad heatwave as well.

Dave and his team, have not only done an amazing job in our office reception area and meeting rooms, but you would never have known they had been there, the clean up is spotless. They were professional, polite and the paint work is to a very high standard. I would highly recommend Dave and his team.

Steve was exceptional, fast and detailed when I contacted him for our large kitchen project which needed painting in a short timeline.
Our painters Shane, Mark and Drew were really lovely chaps. They worked around us brilliantly (no easy feat with 3 kids!), provided a finish to a high standard, were agile as I adjusted things at times and completed the project beautifully and on time. We have discovered a wider network of services within Marshels which we would now be very happy to use. And certainly will be using them for more forthcoming projects we have coming up. Shane, Mark and Drew you were all fabulous and lots of fun to be around. Thanks for all of your efforts to get things just how I like them. We really appreciate it!

I embarked upon a new commission: to design another cinema interior for clients of longstanding some twelve years on from my previous cinema project for them, but this time I was the one resourcing the various operations. I wanted to realise what was to be a highly specialised design; that of an authentic but scaled-to-size 1930's art-deco cinema/theatre mini auditorium within a basement room. In addition to other trades' operations for the art-deco light fittings, curtains and fabrics, carpets and bespoke furniture/upholsterers, the core of the whole operation was given over to the one business that I could see would be capable of working with me right the way through. I cannot begin to give enough praise to the artisan levels of skill-sets possessed among the personnel that work for Mr. Jamie Elstow of Marshels. At no stage of the project did anyone question what I was wanting to achieve, and my schematic drawings were not only followed to the letter, but additional ideas were inputted from the contractors that were indicative of their full understanding and appreciation of the look and feel of the design through their positive contribution and enthusiasm. What was created being a benchmark example of the golden age of cinema/theatre architecture that speaks volumes of their combined efforts and attentiveness. As such, I fully intend to be repeating this with any further upcoming projects with this business that delivers.

FAQs

What is DOFF steam cleaning?

DOFF steam cleaning is a specialised method that uses high-temperature steam to clean and rejuvenate various surfaces, often found on historic buildings and office exteriors. We’d recommend having this cleaning completed by professionals to prevent any damages to delicate building exteriors. Our team can accurately assess the exterior condition, choose the right cleaning parameters, and provide post-cleaning treatments for long-term preservation.

What is the difference between DOFF steam cleaning and pressure washing?

DOFF steam cleaning and traditional pressure washing are both techniques used for surface exterior cleaning, but they differ significantly in their approach and effectiveness. Unlike traditional pressure washing, the DOFF system employs a combination of high-temperature steam and low-pressure water to clean more delicately and effectively. This method not only dislodges dirt and grime but also kills organic growth, such as algae and moss at the root, whilst traditional pressure washing uses high-pressure water alone.

What types of surfaces can be cleaned with the DOFF system?

The DOFF steam cleaning system is versatile and can effectively clean a wide range of surfaces. It can be used to clean surfaces made of various materials, including:

Stone: DOFF is well-suited for stone steam cleaning, particularly surfaces like limestone, sandstone, granite, and marble.
Brick: It can remove dirt, grime, algae, and paint from brick surfaces.
Masonry: DOFF can clean masonry structures, including walls and facades.
Wood: It can be used on wooden surfaces, such as decking and cladding, although careful control of the steam is essential to prevent damage.
Metal: DOFF can clean certain metal surfaces, but the suitability may depend on the specific type of metal and its coating.
Render: It is effective in cleaning render, which is commonly used on home refurbishments.
Graffiti removal: The DOFF system is also used for graffiti removal from a variety of surfaces.

It’s important to consult with a professional DOFF steam cleaning service provider to determine the suitability of the system for your specific cleaning needs and surfaces to ensure safe and effective results.

Is DOFF steam cleaning suitable for both residential and commercial properties?

Yes, DOFF steam cleaning is suitable for both residential and commercial properties. Its versatility makes it an excellent choice for a wide range of surfaces and applications. In residential settings, DOFF can effectively clean exterior walls, doors, windows, and more, helping homeowners maintain the appearance and integrity of their properties. In commercial environments, DOFF is equally valuable, as it can clean building facades, monuments and walkways. Whether you have a historical home, a modern office building, or any other structure, DOFF steam cleaning can be tailored to suit your specific needs, providing a thorough and environmentally-friendly cleaning solution for various property types.

How hot does the steam reach during the DOFF cleaning process?

The DOFF steam cleaning process is characterised by its ability to generate high-temperature steam, often exceeding 150°C (300°F). This intense heat plays a crucial role in its efficacy, as it not only removes dirt and grime but also leaves surfaces clean and sanitised.
