Who we are and what we do

Welcome to Marshels of Farnham – your local painters and decorators in Surrey

Our team of over 30 highly-skilled and experienced painters, decorators, and refurbishment tradesmen take great pride in their work. With a wealth of expertise, our team has successfully worked on numerous projects across Surrey and surrounding counties. Our goal is to deliver high-quality results that leave a lasting impact. We work around you, to your time scale, and guarantee an excellent service, every time.

A family business passionate about the power of paint

Founded in 1986 by Jamie & Mandy Elstow, they have successfully run the company and built a team they’re proud of for over 37 years. Gary Pickering joined shortly after as the third director at Marshels, bringing his managerial expertise within the painting and decorating industry into the company.

We’re a family-run business striving for only the highest standard of work, and only take on tradespeople and painting and decorating contractors that take pride in their craftsmanship. We promote strong relationships within the company work force, and regularly invest in apprenticeship schemes – and that’s why we work towards the promotion of the newer generation of workers, and the development of their skills.

Being part of the local community is more than just a label for us – it’s a genuine passion. We’ve been diving headfirst into all kinds of exciting local projects and initiatives that make Farnham a better place to live. We recently used Marshels to repaint and decorate the front of our shop. From start to finish the experience has been exceptional! Steve initially came out and quoted within a couple of days of my enquiry. The work was carried out within a couple of weeks of proceed. They worked around our closed hours, meaning it didn't affect our working day. The work carried out was to exceptional standard. Steve stayed in touch throughout the project, finishing with a visit to sign the job off. I can not recommend Marshels enough and I shall be using them in the future for home projects. We were very pleased with the work which Marshels did in renovating the exterior of our rendered house, and the highly professional approach which was adopted. Shane and Drew diligently cleared up every day ensuring that there was no mess and kept us informed as to progress. They went the extra mile in addressing other small issues which arose. Adam provided managerial oversight of the work and checked that we were happy with the final result. We would unhesitatingly recommend them and will use them again.

We employed Marshels to help us carry out a complete refurbishment of a rental property we had purchased in Guildford. We knew that there was a lot of work necessary but Jamie and his team proved to be thorough and professional throughout, providing a very detailed quotation, coordinating the various trades necessary (electricians, plumbers, plasterers etc), and finishing the flat to a very good standard. Whenever there were decisions to be made, Marshels were in touch and responded promptly; we really felt we could trust them to do a good job for us throughout. We will certainly be using Marshels for any future works of this nature and I warmly recommend their services.

Marshels have been fantastic! We have had a painter in to paint all our downstairs doors and two more guys in to fix a crack in the front porch. They have all been so friendly and hard working.
