We’re pleased to share that our restoration of the Farnham Herald building has been featured in a recent editorial article in the paper, alongside our advert. It’s a project we’re proud of, so here’s a closer look at the work.
The Farnham Herald building has stood on Farnham’s high street for well over a century, with its beautiful red brick, sash windows and curved bay shopfront. It’s a much-loved part of the Farnham’s heritage, and the aim was to protect that character while protecting the building from future damage.
What the Restoration Involved
One of the biggest challenges of the job was preserving the building’s authentic period detail. That meant stripping back and reglazing the bay windows pane by pane, with the original frames retained rather than replaced. Behind the scenes, we also rebuilt the shopfront framework and made sure it was sealed from the elements.
The Result
A building that still presents its period face to the street, while standing genuinely secure and weathertight.
