We’re pleased to share that our recent living room renovation in Hartley Wintney has been featured in an editorial article in the Farnham Herald, alongside our latest advert. It’s a project we really enjoyed, so here’s a closer look at the work.
The room is the heart of a much-loved family home, with leaded windows overlooking the garden, glazed doors opening onto the conservatory and a fireplace at its centre. After years of family life, it was ready for more than a fresh coat of paint. We were recommended for the project by interior designer Elizabeth Designs, and it was a pleasure to bring their scheme to life.
What the Renovation Involved
Refurbishing a room while a family lives around the works takes careful planning and a tidy, considerate team, so we project-managed the whole job from start to finish.
The old radiators came out, the pipework was rerouted and two period-style column radiators were fitted. We reworked and re-plastered the ceiling for new light fittings, installed new sockets, and screeded the floor before laying warm herringbone. Richly textured wallpaper went up, the windows were repainted, and the doors were sanded and painted rather than replaced.
We also suggested a deeper, more contemporary skirting board. It wasn’t something the homeowners had considered, but it now frames the whole room.
The Result
An elegant, calming space where the family can come together at the end of the day. The new screed gives a level, solid base, and the rerouted pipework and electrics keep the walls clean and uncluttered, so the room will look good and work well for years. It also flows naturally from the hallway, which we transformed a few years ago.
As the homeowner put it, nothing was too much trouble, and our advice on the skirting boards made all the difference.
